The Sickle Cell Association of South Louisiana is partnering with The Walls Project to create a Healing Wall mural on the side of the SCASL building for the clients. The project will allow clients and family members to get involved by helping create the mural. SCASL clients will have the opportunity to vote and make the ultimate decision on the design of the mural, as well as volunteer to actually paint the design on the wall.
Join us for the unveiling of the wall on Saturday, June 25 at 11:30 a.m. Come see the wall and learn more about sickle cell disease and our clients. We will have food, prizes, presentations and more.
If you would like to help provide support for individuals living with sickle cell disease, consider making a donation to SCASL. Click here to make a donation.
Sponsorship: Companies, individuals and organizations can be a part of this special project by becoming a sponsor for the mural project as well as the Block Party. Sponsor dollars will go towards the cost of the mural service as well as continued care coordination that is provided to clients. One way we want to assist our clients is by finding alternatives ways that reduce the stress and manage their pain crisis. One of those ways is through art. Many clients use coloring, painting, or drawing to help ease their pain by keeping their mind occupied while going through a pain crisis.
